Bucks-Mont Trauma Coalition

Trauma trainings, resources, and community-building

The Bucks-Mont Trauma Coalition is committed to furthering a trauma-aware, and ultimately, trauma-informed community for all who live and work in Bucks and Montgomery Counties.

Coalition membership is free and open to all health and human service and related professionals in our region. Join us!

Together, we seek to enhance health and build resilience by:

Offering licensed trauma workshops that deepen knowledge and related skills regarding the realms of ACES.

Convening individuals and organizations to build relationships and support collective learning and growth.

Facilitating access to trauma-related resources, within and beyond the Coalition.

Dr. Neil Broxterman

Dr. Neil Broxterman has served the North Penn community for all 22 years of his educational career. Currently, he is serving as Assistant Director of Student Services and principal, Northbridge campus in the North Penn School District. Prior to his current role, Neil taught social studies at Penndale Middle School, served as an assistant principal at North Penn High School for several years, and most recently was the principal of A.M. Kulp Elementary School. Neil received his bachelor’s degree from Lock Haven University in Secondary Education with concentrations in Spanish and Social Studies. He later obtained his master’s degree from Wilkes University and his principal certification from Gwynedd Mercy University. Most recently, Neil completed his doctoral degree in Educational Leadership at Immaculata University along with his letter of eligibility for superintendency.

Throughout his career, Neil has enjoyed advocating and working with students with disabilities. His passion for special education extends beyond his professional career as a parent of two children who are on the Autism spectrum. It helps inform his decision-making and efforts to partner with parents in the education of their children. He looks forward to partnering with parents, staff, and most importantly, students in helping them learn and grow.

Donna Duffy Grimm

Donna Duffy Grimm is the Bucks County Administrator for Behavioral Health and Developmental Programs.  Bringing 40 years of Human Services experience in Bucks County, Donna has served in a variety of behavioral health leadership roles at both the community non-profit service provider and County government levels.  She is currently the Board President of the PA Association of County Administrators MH/DS and is an Advisory Board Member of the PA Association of Psychiatric Rehabilitation Services.

As an Upper Bucks County resident for almost four decades, Donna also volunteers in her local community in support of individuals who are homeless or at risk of homelessness.  She is a licensed PA psychologist and holds certifications as a psychiatric rehabilitation practitioner and advanced alcohol and drug counselor.  Donna is passionate about continuous prevention and intervention improvement efforts and empowering communities in support of individuals with mental health, substance use, and intellectual/developmental disabilities and delays to actively participate, contribute, and thrive in their communities.

Kelly Grosser

Kelly Grosser serves YWCA Tri County Area as their Chief Mission Impact Officer, overseeing several key initiatives, such as: Youth Empowerment, Advocacy, Unite to Heal PA, WE 360, Foster Grandparents, Trauma and Prevention Services, and Centers for Thriving Families. She is an experienced facilitator, coach, and non-profit leader with specializations in youth development, equity, advocacy, and trauma. After leaving public education, Kelly led YW’s Youth Empowerment Programs and facilitated implicit bias and advocacy trainings for over a  decade before stepping into her current role.
She holds a bachelor’s degree in English, a Health and Life Coach Certification, numerous mission-aligned and youth-focused certifications, and holds teacher certifications in several states. Kelly previously served as Pottstown Trauma Informed Community Connection’s coordinator and advanced her personal and professional development with Lakeside Global Institute in 2019. Today she holds a Trauma-Competent Professional Certification and is a licensed trainer facilitating trauma-focused trainings with particular interest in the education, medical, community, and non-profit sectors.

Dr. Pamula Hart

Dr. Pamula Hart is currently the Director of Education and Equity in the North Penn School District.  In this role she has worked to establish and strengthen community partnerships to enhance the experience of students and families. She began her teaching career in the Upper Dublin School District and served as an elementary principal for 21 years in three districts in Montgomery County. In each of these positions, she initiated and co-facilitated Diversity Cafes to enhance the educational experiences of children and families through the lens of identity. She also facilitated ongoing professional development for staff and faculty on topics related to cultural proficiency, implementation of new curricula and data analysis, established before and after school programs as well as partnerships with early care and preschool programs.

Dr. Hart holds an undergraduate degree in Elementary Education from Penn State University. She earned a Masters in Education and Doctor of Philosophy in Curriculum and Instruction from the University of Washington, Seattle.

Guiyoung Kim

Guiyoung Kim was born and raised in South Korea and came to the US to study counseling in 1995. While attending school, she met her husband, and America became her second home.

After earning an MA in counseling at Missio Seminary (formerly known as Biblical Theological Seminary), she worked as a mobile therapist and behavior consultant for children and adolescents for 10 years. She also worked as a group therapist for adults with psychiatric diagnoses for three years. Currently, she works part-time as a primary therapist at Horsham clinic, an in-patient psychiatric hospital located in Ambler, while pursuing an Ed.D degree in community care and trauma counseling at Liberty University.

Pam Howard

Administrator, Montgomery County Department of Health and Human Services Office of Mental Health/Developmental Disabilities/Early Intervention

After beginning her career in Psychiatric Rehabilitation, Pam shifted to public service when she began working for Montgomery County’s Office of Mental Health over 25 years ago. Pam participates in many cross-system partnerships throughout the County as a member of the Health and Human Services Cabinet, and the Criminal Justice Advisory Board. Pam has been leading Montgomery County’s work as an Innovator County in the national Stepping Up Initiative which strives to decrease the number of individuals in county jails who experience serious mental illness.

Pam is a Board Member of the Pennsylvania Association of County Administrators of Mental Health and Developmental Services. In 2020 Pam was named to the Governor’s Trauma-Informed PA Think Tank, which worked on the Trauma-Informed PA Plan. She served on the HEAL PA Leadership team from 2020-2023 working on the Trauma-Informed PA initiative as co-chair of the Criminal Justice Action Team.

Dr. Janice Nuss

Dr. Janice Nuss is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker and Associate Professor of Social Work at Gwynedd Mercy University located outside of Philadelphia, PA.  Before entering higher education full time in 2017, Dr. Nuss spent twenty years in administration and clinical practice in the field of behavioral health and developmental disabilities.  Her areas of research include trauma informed care, global learning, and human rights.

Kristie Piacine

Kristie Piacine serves YWCA Tri-County Area as their Director of Trauma and Prevention Services, overseeing community prevention and wellness initiatives. A strong believer in the power of healing through relationship building, Kristie invites others to see and lean into a ‘we all belong to each others model, where community is medicine – for healing, for connection, for hope. An experienced for- and not-for-profit leader, Kristie spent the early part of her career working in public relations and interpersonal/business communications in the corporate arena serving multiple industries.

Passionate about helping others create meaningful and compassionate relationships that bridge generations and different vantage points, she holds a Trauma-Competent Professional Certification from Lakeside Global Institute and is a licensed trainer facilitating trauma-focused trainings with interest to spread Tier 1 mental health education. A past community coordinator for Pottstown Trauma Informed Community Coalition, she currently serves as a member of the Montgomery County and Berks County Suicide Prevention Task Forces, is a member of Montgomery County’s Trauma Leader Cohort, serves as a QPR Gatekeeper trainer and just recently aims to volunteer with the Keystone Crisis Intervention Team.
