The Office of Head Start has published concerning revisions to Head Start and Early Start Head programs. These revisions:
- Eliminate proven interventions
- Weaken accountability
- Undermine the comprehensive model defining Head Start for decades
Low-income children will feel the impact. MCC believes that all children deserve the best start possible, and that includes consistent, high-quality early education, health, disability, nutrition, and family-support services.
How can you support children and families? Submit a comment! The public comment period for these revisions ends today – on October 6, 2026. Take action now!

Protect a Fair, Complete, and Accurate 2030 Census
“The U.S. Department of Commerce and the Census Bureau published on September 10 a proposed rule that would make significant changes to how the 2030 Decennial Census counts people and collects demographic data. If implemented, the proposed changes would directly impact the people and communities that nonprofits serve every day.
If implemented, the proposal would exclude broad categories of people, including international students, H-1B visa holders, refugees, asylum seekers, undocumented people and others, from the population count used to allocate congressional seats and federal funding. The proposed regulation would also eliminate questions on race, ethnicity, and sexual orientation, an unprecedented departure from the census’s longstanding practice of collecting this critical information. These changes would undercount the number of people living in communities, reducing their access to federal resources and political representation, and they would make it harder to understand changing community needs and address racial, social, and other disparities.”
Learn more, with two opportunities for action, led by the National Council of Nonprofits!
Join Bucks-Mont Collaborative in signing on to a national letter opposing the proposed changes to the Census by October 13.

- Learn More and Get Involved!
Every October during Domestic Violence Awareness Month, YWCAs across the country come together to recognize a Week Without Violence (WWV), YWCA USA’s signature national campaign dedicated to raising awareness, inspiring action, and advancing solutions to end gender-based violence.
In 2026, YWCA USA’s Week Without Violence campaign centers around an important topic, Rising Together: Centering Young Voices to End Gender-Based Violence.
This focus highlights a critical reality: young people are disproportionately impacted by intimate partner violence, sexual assault, grooming, and exploitation, yet their voices are too often absent from conversations about prevention, healing, and systemic change. Throughout the week, the YWCA Tri-County Area will create opportunities for community members, advocates, survivors, and young people to come together, learn from one another, and help build a future free from violence.
