PA Governor’s Advisory Commission on Women | The State of the Woman Report Is Underway — And Your Participation Matters!
Pennsylvania has launched the first comprehensive State of the Woman Report in more than 20 years, and women across the state are being invited to share their experiences.
From cities and suburbs to small towns and rural communities, women are speaking up about the realities they face every day. Their insights will help shape policy priorities and drive meaningful change across the Commonwealth. Hearing directly from women is essential to ensuring this report reflects the real challenges, successes, and opportunities women experience.
You Have 2 Ways to Get Involved:
✔️ Take the Digital Survey: Add your voice by completing the survey online.
✔️ Attend a Listening Session with the Governor’s Advisory Commission on Women: Join an upcoming session in the southeast region:
- April 18 – Southeast Region (Horsham)
- May 1 – Virtual (Statewide)
Find more information on all efforts here. The report will only be as strong and representative as the participation behind it. Completing the survey, attending a session, or helping spread the word all contribute to ensuring women’s voices are centered in decisions that impact families, workplaces, and communities across Pennsylvania.
Be part of shaping what comes next for Pennsylvania women!

Housing Alliance of PA | 2 Organizational Sign-On Opportunities to Support Housing Solutions!
Support HB 1095 – Fair Housing Access: Sealing Eviction Records to Protect Tenants & Communities Bill, which passed the Pennsylvania House of Representatives and is now under consideration in the Senate. Sign the petition!
Eviction records remain publicly accessible for life—even in cases where tenants win or resolve issues years ago. Unlike credit reports or bankruptcy filings, there is no limit to how long an eviction record follows someone. This results in long-term harm to renters who may have experienced a temporary crisis, especially those working low-wage jobs essential to our communities—such as nursing home aides, grocery store workers, and child care providers.
HB 1095 would:
• Seal eviction records after seven years; and
• Immediately seal records when a tenant wins their case in court.

Sign-On Letter for Humane Solutions to Encampments
Unsheltered homelessness and encampments where people are living in tents, under bridges, and in wooded areas are a growing concern. The Housing Alliance of PA is requesting support for an investment of $20 million to implement a multi-pronged strategy that secures and closes an encampment within a set time-period.
This new, comprehensive approach includes:
- Outreach – Build trust and understand the needs of people living outside. Bring services to the encampments rather than requiring individuals to find and travel to service agencies.
- Landlord Engagement – Recruit and provide support and benefits to landlords willing to help. When we meet the business needs of landlords, they will rent to those they may not otherwise consider.
- Rental Assistance – Provide short-term help to stabilize housing.
Site Cleanup – Clean and secure the area to prevent others from continuing to use the site. - Case Management – Connect people to long-term support and services to ensure they do not return to homelessness.
With the right investment and coordination, we can address encampments one by one—providing real solutions for people living outdoors, reducing strain on public systems, and improving safety and stability across our communities.

Building Justice Through Joy: “Under pressure, bodies often brace, shut down, or lash out. Joy offers a different orientation: it keeps the nervous system open enough to learn, tell the truth, collaborate, and repair. Treated as infrastructure, joy becomes the emotional ecosystem that makes accountability possible without cruelty and truth possible without terror. This isn’t about pretending things are fine; it’s about protecting dignity so capacity can grow and movements can endure.”
