What We Do:

Mission Statement: Network of Victim Assistance (NOVA) supports, counsels and empowers victims of sexual assault and other serious crimes in Bucks County and works to prevent and eliminate violence in society through advocacy, training, community education and prevention programs.

About NOVA:

NOVA was founded in 1974 as Women Organized Against Rape (WOAR). It was the first and continues to be the only rape crisis center in Bucks County, PA.
NOVA’s programs all work collectively to support, counsel and empower victims of crime by providing a continuum of direct and forensic services to victims of crime in Bucks County. Additionally, NOVA’s prevention and training services provide an array of offerings throughout the 5-county area and across the Commonwealth designed to work towards preventing and eliminating violence in society.

Always on the cutting edge of service delivery, NOVA provides a variety of programs to meet individual needs including but not limited to: a 24-7 victim hotline, Sexual Assault Nurse Examiner (SANE) services in area hospitals, forensic interviews for children who have been sexually or physical abused though the Children’s Advocacy Center (CAC), trauma-focused cognitive behavioral therapy provided in office, home or schools, and legal advocacy and support through the criminal justice system. All of NOVA’s services are provided at no cost to victims and their families.

In addition, NOVA provides prevention education and professional training in schools, the community and through continuing education conferences. NOVA is also the home to two special projects, The Keystone Crisis Intervention Team (KCIT) and The Bucks Coalition Against Human Trafficking (BCAT).

NOVA is a non-profit 501 (c) (3), community-based organization. Services are made possible through the financial support of federal, state, and local government grants and contracts, United Way of Bucks County, corporations, foundations and private donations.
