Since our founding in 2004, Interfaith Philadelphia’s vision is to have our region reflect the vibrancy of a religiously diverse democracy, one in which all people are valued, distinctive traditions are welcomed, and people of diverse backgrounds collaborate to shape a just and compassionate society. We advance this vision through three core areas of work:
1. The Leadership Institute of Interfaith Philadelphia: Intended for professional and personal development curated pathways to build skills, relationships and knowledge for interfaith and cross-cultural engagement. All of the workshops offer opportunities to explore, learn and practice! See our updated menu of offerings.
2. Youth Initiatives: Empowering youth in formative years, teens- college, we offer an array of initiatives for dialogue and learning across difference. We welcome school and community partnerships, tailored to the needs of your students, and offer Alternative Break immersion experiences for high school and college groups.
3. Religious Networks: Convening and supporting collaborative efforts among the rich network of religious life in our region, we work with leadership of congregations, denominations and seminaries: The Religious Leaders Council of Greater Philadelphia was founded in Spring 2006 to build relationships of mutual support, offer a moral and spiritual voice in the region, and identify issues of concern for dialogue and action. The Inter-Seminary Initiative fosters collaboration among institutions educating future religious leaders to equip students with interfaith relationships, skills and knowledge to better serve an increasingly plural world.
