Shifting the Narrative Part II: A Housing Justice Community of Practice
Whether you joined us in August for Part I or are new to the conversation, we invite you to Shifting the Narrative: A Community of Practice (Part II).
How we talk about housing shapes what we’re willing to do about it. The stories we tell about homelessness, affordability, and the people most affected influence public opinion, policy, and solutions. When those stories center dignity, possibility, and shared responsibility, they can help create lasting change.
Launched this summer by HealthSpark Foundation, the Montgomery County HHS’ Office of Housing & Community Development, and the Bucks-Mont Collaborative, this series is facilitated by Housing Narrative Lab, a national leader in evidence-based housing narratives and communications.
In Part I, partners from across Montgomery and Bucks Counties examined the public opinions and stories that shape housing work in our communities and explored how reframing them can strengthen our advocacy and our collaboration. View the Part I Recap.
Part II builds on that foundation. We’ll revisit key messaging from Part I, reflect on how it has landed in our work since August, and explore how to carry it further. The agenda draws directly on input from Part I participants, and the session will give us space to deepen relationships, sharpen our shared language, and identify where we can move forward together.
New participants are welcome! If you’re working toward housing justice in Montgomery or Bucks Counties, there’s a seat for you at this table.
