Here for Us Coalition for an Advocacy 101 Presentation
There is a lot of discussion about advocacy among nonprofit organizations. We have even launched Here for Us, a coalition to promote and lead safety net systems advocacy! We are all encouraged to take action on behalf of our organizations, missions, and issues. While many of us want to advocate, we may be new to this work and could benefit from examples and best practices, as well as better understanding the parameters of what is allowed as a 501C3 or similar organization.
Join the Here for Us Coalition for an Advocacy 101 presentation! During this session, we will discuss what advocacy is, share different types of advocacy, and various actions and strategies through which advocacy is conducted. Examples and stories will share best practices and help clarify what advocacy is and is not. We will discuss the laws governing advocacy versus lobbying – knowing the difference is key to successfully advocating.
Register for this 12-1pm presentation and share organization-wide! Board members, volunteers and staff are welcome.
