Harnessing the Untapped Talent of People with Diverse Abilities

Harnessing the Untapped Talent of People with Diverse Abilities

Through research-sharing, story-telling and video, this interactive session will share how Integrate for Good empowers organizations and communities to harness the untapped talent of people with diverse abilities.

Too often people with disabilities are seen as the recipients of service.  Their intelligence and leadership abilities are underestimated.  Integrate for Good is working to ensure that the rich opportunities in our shared community are accessible not just to some of us, but to all of us. Hear success stories and strategies for ensuring that people with disabilities are not just “in the community,” but actively engaged as valued contributors and leaders.  It takes all of us working together to ensure a truly inclusive community where no one is left out.

Thank you to Dr. Bev Weinberg, Founder and Executive Director of Integrate For Good, for leading this training!

Learning Objectives:
1. Understand the importance of a strength-based approach to neurodiversity and the significance of leadership opportunities for students and adults with disabilities in preparation for employment and community participation.

2. Through video sharing and case studies, learn how three individuals with disabilities assumed leadership roles on college campuses and within local corporations.

3. Explore how the Integrate for Good model can be replicated in other settings.
