Creating a path forward: Advancements in science

A Black History Month special presentation, “Creating a path forward: Advancements in science” will focus on the importance of minority enrollment in clinical trials. Many clinical studies are lacking diverse representation. Join Drs. Peggye Dilworth-Anderson and Angela M. Hill as they explore why minorities are underrepresented and how new policies are hoping to change that fact. Community resources will also be offered including information about current clinical trials such as the New IDEAS, a nationwide research study for people who have memory loss. New IDEAS is looking at a type of FDA- approved brain imaging to find out if an amyloid PET scan can help guide the diagnosing and treatment of memory conditions.
